After being suddenly dumped by his girlfriend of five years, Kuroi flees the city filled with memories of her as quickly as possible and takes a day-labor job in an unfamiliar town. There, he meets Futaba, a tough, strict boss who scolds him harshly. One day, feeling powerless, Kuroi falls asleep at the worksite late into the night and is found by Futaba, who lets him stay the night at her house.
